After the death of her husband, and the scandal surrounding it, Liz Stone quit her job as a detective with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department. The rest of her life shatters when she gets a call from a Connecticut lawyer telling her that her mother has passed away. The problem is that she thought her mother died thirty years earlier when Liz was five. He went on to tell her that she was the sole heir to her mother’s estate and asks her to go to Connecticut to take care of the details of her mother’s estate.
Liz decided to go to Connecticut , with her five year old daughter Rosie, not just to settle her mother’s estate, but also to find answers to why she was lied to all her life. She must meet the grandmother that was behind the decision to take her away from her mother.
On Liz’s second day in Connecticut the body of a small child is discovered on her land. Liz is caught up in the need to investigate the crime and the fact that she’s no longer a cop. When two more little girls are abducted she is determined to find out who it taking them.

This doesn't read like a "first novel" but instead it draws you in like a much published author does. Suspense and a whiff of romance make it an excellent read. There are typographical errors to be corrected but they don't distract from the plot and the progression of the story. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Love mysteries, you want be disappointed.
This book was riveting. READ IT ON A RELAXING WEEKEND. Lots of twists and turns. Can,t wait for the next in the series-IRON STONE.
Second book in the series. Great characters and interesting story line. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to escape into a book.
Just like the first book, you can't put this book down until you have read the entire book. Love the way the author makes the characters and community come alive within the reader's mind.
It is not like you do not know the ending, as it is there. You have to keep reading to watch and see how those involved put all the details together.
I loved Touchstone! I had read the first book by Kathy Reynolds and liked it. However by moving Liz and her daughter, Touchstone had a much more family feeling to it. I have read all five of her books now and loved all of them. I can't wait for the next one. The plots are a little violent but all ends we'll and I like that.
Once you have read the first volume about Liz Stone and her life you want to, no, need to find out where she goes from there. It is a life that is filled with surprises but in reality could happen to people. Even now I can picture the home, Liz, and her daughter Rosie vividly in my mind as if I actually saw them. I hope there are many more of these volumes to keep me reading.
